Workshop II: Call for danceroom Spectroscopy dance participants
Wed 26th June, 9am – 3pm
Bristol

The multi-award winning project danceroom Spectroscopy (dS) has started rehearsing for an Arts Council funded international tour, scheduled between Autumn 2013 and Spring 2014. As part of the rehearsal process we are inviting a range of professional dancers interested in exploring the system to join us.

dS is at the frontier of Sci-Art collaborations, exploring new languages and crossovers on the interface of dance, physics, interactive art, and technology. It interprets people as energy fields, allowing them to influence both graphics and sound using their movement.

Hidden Fields, which made its debut in July 2012, is a high impact and accessible dance performance we have constructed using the dS technology. Combining stunning visuals and self-composing soundscapes, it offers a glimpse into the beauty of our everyday movements, using sophisticated physics to show how we interact with the hidden energy matrix in which we’re embedded.

Over the next 6 months we will be inviting energetic and creative dancers to help us investigate the manner in which different forms of movement harness and utilize energy, and the results these different movement vocabularies create within our system. Advanced practitioners from any genre of dance are welcome! We’re open to anything – from ballet to break, acro-balance to african, tap to Tumba, Kathak to Capoeira, Morris to modern contemporary, or anything else you can imagine!

We will be holding a series of workshops in the coming months, and the next one is scheduled for Wednesday 26th June, from 9 am – 3 pm in Bristol.

If you would like to attend please email choreographer Laura Kriefman admin@guerilladanceproject.com with a short bio, and a paragraph about why this project interests you. There are a limited number of places, and we advise that you get in touch as soon as possible.
