Making connections in the virtual world

On Saturday, part of the dS Festival drop-in day, we are running a free artist led dance session, where we invite you to explore the connections made using simple dance movements and dS. The session will be based around touch, connection, trust and support. And who better to lead this dS dance experience than Lisa May Thomas, dS dance artist, who has been a key collaborator in the development of the dance show Hidden Fields.

Lisa describes how the session will work:
“We will start by warming up in the dome, whilst being surrounded by a 360˚ representation of our human energy fields. These energy fields interact with particles that occupy a virtual space.

In the workshop we’ll find moments of stillness, where we can be aware of ourselves, and explore connections between each other and the energy fields in the space. There will time to move, time to watch others moving, and time to sense the impact of movement. Through this exploration of movement, through collecting and scattering particles, and by making group shapes, we’ll playfully experiment and explore the key ideas that underpin danceroom Spectroscopy.”
