Barbican London, UK

3-4 NOV 2012, FREE

Visitors entering danceroom Spectroscopy (dS) will become an elecrostatic force, where their energy controls the sounds and images in the room. What memories will be evoked and what emotions triggered by Hidden Fields out of body experience?

danceroom Spectroscopy (dS) is a new phenomenon that’s part video game, part art installation, part immersive science visualization, and part social experiment. Fusing 3D imaging with quantum mechanics, it transforms you into an energy field where you interact with other energy fields amidst a hidden atomic world, triggering sounds and images. With no limit on the number of “players”, dS plays with you as much as you play with it!.

Hidden Fields is a high impact and accessible dance performance. Combining stunning visuals and self composing soundscapes, it offers a glimpse into the beauty of our everyday movements, showing how we interact with the hidden energy fields surrounding us. Using the danceroom Spectroscopy technology, dancers within the performance are transformed into energy fields, and control the behaviour of the otherwise invisible world surrounding us all.

Below are the performance times. There will also be an installation of dS in the foyer on both days -come and get involved! Tickets are free, more details can be found on the Barbican website.
